A service designer works on a wide variety of projects ranging from technical to those involving feelings and perceptions. Most incorporate a combination of factors — working with motivated, competent people to solve complex, multifactorial, meaningful human-centered problems.

You work in the field regularly, observing and talking with patients, families, nurses, doctors, administrators, researchers, and desk and support staff — a complete range of people who make up the health care system.

Lastly, you will collaborate and partner with a dynamic team of internal project managers, administrative assistants, innovation coordinators and other designers, as well as external Mayo systems engineers, software development engineers, statisticians, business analysts and scientists.
