Position description
Assists the surgeon during operative procedures by providing appropriate and adequate sterile instrumentation and other supplies. Maintains the surgical field through aseptic practices. Ensures the operating suite is adequately prepared for the procedure. Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse as a member of the peri-operative team. Monitors the PAR level of surgical instruments and supplies. Actively participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
Surgical Technician program graduate or student graduating from a Surgical Tech program.

Additional qualifications
AST membership, preferred. Surgical Technologist Certification, preferred.

Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Willingness to accept new ideas and work under stressful conditions. Basic computer knowledge.

License or certification
Current BLS Certification.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $24.14 per hour.

Schedule details
8 hour rotating shifts, days/evening/nights, with on call rotation during the week. Must be able to report to work within 30 minutes when on call.

Weekend schedule
This position includes a scheduled weekend and holiday shift rotation as well as on call rotation during the week and weekends. Weekend requirements include both in house shifts and on call. Must be able to report to work within 30 minutes when on call.
