The Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a culturally competent, bilingual Spanish-speaking clinical neuropsychologist with expertise in adult outpatient neurodiagnostic evaluation. Approximately 15% effort in this full-time position will be devoted to neuropsychological assessment of patients from Latin America referred from the Mayo Clinic Florida International Center, as well as bilingual and monolingual Spanish-speaking individuals from the local community and elsewhere. Other clinical effort will be devoted to evaluation of a broad range of clinical populations, with opportunities to contribute to the further development of specialty practices in various medical, neurosurgical, and/or neurodegenerative disorders.
The position involves teaching and clinical supervision in our APPCN postdoctoral fellowship program and with residents and fellows throughout our medical center. Research opportunities are available within currently existing programs on aging, neurodegenerative disease, sociocultural determinants of health, health equity & community engagement, brain tumor, epilepsy, transplant, and/or post-acute sequelae of COVID. Development of unique lines of inquiry is also possible.
License or certification
Candidates should hold a doctoral degree from a Psychology graduate program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) or Canadian Psychological Association (CPA), and will have completed an APA/CPA accredited internship. Two years of postdoctoral training consistent with Houston conference guidelines is also required. The successful candidate will be eligible for licensure in Florida and will either have or obtain specialty board certification in clinical neuropsychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) within 3 years of starting this position.
