Position description
Responsible for: Programming, planning, and design solutions for designated interior remodeling projects or workstation reconfigurations. Supports design efforts related to signage/wayfinding and furniture programs. Assists in the standardization, specification and procurement of business furnishings. Supports Design Tech's, Project Management, and consultants with regards to planning, design, interior finish and furniture standards and selections. Incumbent prepares CADD drawings, construction documents or visuals as needed to support planning efforts.NON-ESSENTIAL: Assumes responsibility for job-related growth and development.

1. Assumes responsibility for maintaining and improving current level of skills and knowledge.

2. Informs supervisor of problem areas in training and knowledge; proposes possible solutions.

3. Accepts guidance and instruction from immediate supervisor; utilizes feedback about performance to further develop job skills.

4. Assists with orienting new employees with regard to interior and furniture standards, policies, and procurement procedures.

5. Is able to utilize and is proficient with Facilities Planning & Design and Facilities Project Services computer systems. Performs duties in a professional manner and with sound judgment.

1. Uses tactful, appropriate and easy to understand verbal and written communications when dealing with patients, staff, visitors, consultants, and physicians.

2. Uses discretion and maintains confidentiality of information as related to clinic business matters.

3. Displays a professional demeanor in the performance of daily activities.

4. Accepts extra effort and/or adjustments to work hours when required by supervisor/director, due to volume of deadline demands.

5. Recognizes problems or situations beyond the scope of his or her job. Notifies appropriate source on a timely basis. Manages time effectively.

1. Demonstrates ability to organize tasks, while being sensitive to time constraints, project schedules, and proponent requirements.

2. Prioritizes work properly and organizes activities in accordance with department mission and objectives.

3. Performs work as directed, with only the amount of supervision that is typically required.

4. Follows through and carries out all aspects of work assignments. Remains attentive to detail, and ensures that the work is complete and accurate.

5. Utilizes work time effectively. Avoids excessive talking, seeks additional assignments when able, and assists other team members when regular work is completed.

6. Seeks appropriate assistance when necessary. Willingly accepts assistance when offered.

7. Adheres to deadlines. Works with supervisor to establish realistic deadlines; notifies supervisor when extenuation circumstances preclude deadline completion.

8. In managing multiple priorities, requests assistance from supervisor/Facilities team if priorities are unknown.

EDUCATION : Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or related field with a minimum of five years in design related industry is required. Licensing by NCIDQ (National Committee for Interior Design Qualification) is desirable. Experience should include Interior Design or Architectural firm experience, CADD experience, furniture procurement and specification. Experience with building finish standards, furniture standards programs, move coordination and asset management is desirable.

Additional qualifications
COMPETENCY: JOB KNOWLEDGE: Basic computer skills including but not limited to: CADD (AutoCad/Architectural Desktop), Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Internet, and Exchange. Experience with CAP (Computer Aided Planning) software is preferable. ADDL CONSIDERATIONS: Candidate should have good understanding and knowledge of construction and design field. Must posses the ability to communicate effectively with many levels of personnel via oral and written correspondence. Incumbent must be organized and posses strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to work with a high degree of independence and self-direction.

Exemption status

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.  The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2484.80, based on a full-time position.

Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. Some early or late meetings as required for meeting participants.

Weekend schedule
As required to oversee a project installation
