Position description

Join the engineering side of the innovation environment for Mayo Clinic. Our technical staff partner with world-class healthcare delivery and research physicians to bring new capabilities to healthcare. The Division of Engineering pursues innovative solutions for a wide variety of new capabilities. Opportunities may be pursued by leveraging commercial partnerships or through internal design and fabrication. Our products cover the patient care spectrum from benchtop prototype to patient bedside.  We may collaborate to help brainstorm a solution that is contracted externally or may apply our engineering staff to design and build internally. We are a unique resource for a healthcare institution, and one that helps Mayo Clinic maintain its #1 rating in the country for healthcare delivery.

This role will advance multi-disciplinary biomedical-related engineering concepts with assistance from colleagues with complementary expertise; will have primary project responsibility for activities throughout the entire project life cycle; must work independently with full accountability for project results; and will make decisions affecting the success of complex projects. Most detailed design and fabrication work for ideas that advance into development and overseen by this role are expected to be outsourced; some will be pursued for internal design. For internal design, this role will coordinate work of assigned project staff, therefore demonstrated skills leading projects from a practical, experiential and academic basis is desired.
