Position description
Serves as the primary point source for the implementation/coordination of any signage and environmental graphics required within the Mayo Enterprise System. Project scope can vary from small, miscellaneous projects to comprehensive wayfinding solutions for new building construction. Directs contractors and subcontractors that assist with the installation/removal of signage. Prepare and provide signage cost estimates. Responsible for maintaining all orders and tracking the quality and cost of signage expended. Manages the signage budget. Responsible for ordering and maintaining all stock for interior/exterior signs for designated sites. Manages computer systems, hardware, and orders all supplies for Mayo Wayfinding program. Supports the Institution in all wayfinding, signage design, detailing, documentation, material acquisition, production, fabrication, coordination, and application of the Mayo Wayfinding & Signage Program. Manages and maintains existing room numbering system on CADD Database for designated campuses. Responsible for digital wayfinding/signage systems. Participate as member of task forces or committees as required. Produces graphic presentation materials and conducts field surveys and observations for the division.


Qualifications
Minimum two-year degree in Graphic Design, Interior Design, or related field with five years’ experience working in a similar capacity in graphic design or wayfinding/signage industry.

Additional qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, architecture, interior design, or related field with a minimum of three years of related work experience is preferred. Environmental graphic design focus is ideal.
Professional experience in design/publishing using a wide variety of software and hardware including: Adobe Creative Suite; Adobe Illustrator, In-Design, Photoshop, Bridge. Microsoft Office Products; Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point. Other software; Kahua, Cutting Master Pro, Vector Works, File Maker, Flexisign. Hardware; Macintosh, Vinyl cutters, large format printers. Experience working with REVIT or Sketch Up Models is ideal.
Must possess good mechanical abilities, knowledge of building materials and signage fabrication techniques, graphic design skills, and able to read and interpret construction documents and details. Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Must have good oral and written communication skills and must have the ability to establish and meet deadlines. Must have strong skills in decision making, problem solving, interpersonal interaction and communication and able to manage several projects on time and within budget. Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of Mayo staff as well as outside fabricators and signage consultants. Must possess leadership skills to direct supplemental/contract employees. Must be able to work with high degree of independence and self-direction.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $27.40 per hour.
