This position is located in London, UK. Relocation is not provided. This is not an internal expatriate assignment.

Position description
The Radiology Scheduler has responsibility over the pre-visit and post-visit responsibilities associated with an imaging appointment. Pre-visit responsibilities include but are not limited to: scheduling of appointment, tracking appointment with associated orders, sending patient education information, uploading relevant images to the medical record and communication on financial associations of the imaging appointment if necessary. This role will be a key team member within the Radiology team that ensures the imaging appointment goes smoothly due to checking that required items such as contrast and justification are completed prior to the visit and the patient is aware/educated on imaging appointment requirements and timing of appointment (whether stand-alone or combined with others). Post-visit responsibilities include but are not limited to: reposting results to referring providers, sending cover letter and feedback form, tracking feedback received and following up on billing. Optimizing the satisfaction for both patients and providers is the top goal for this role and requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail and ability to work in a changing environment.

Through this process, the Radiology Scheduler responds to and interacts with a variety of individuals which may include patients, customers, referring physicians, Mayo providers, allied health staff and family members. Appropriate interpretation and application of Mayo policies regarding scheduling criteria and medical need are essential. Position may be eligible for and/or required to telework based on location, work unit and business need. For all positions it is required to be on-site for at least 6 months to one year before teleworking could be an option. Hours may vary and additional time or overtime may be required to meet workload requirements.

Qualifications
  • General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) and two years customer service experience in an environment requiring multi-tasking, such as a call center, administrative/physician's office, appointment scheduler or retail/ service industry.
  • Previous medical experience preferred in a hospital or clinic outpatient setting, including knowledge of radiology procedures.
  • Successful completion of Clinic Operations approved medical terminology course within 6 months of position start date is required.
  • Completion of Basic Life Support training, MRI Safety training and Safe Patient Handling education are also required based on assignment.


Additional qualifications
  • Completion of Medical Terminology course preferred.
  • Qualified candidates must be customer-focused, service-oriented, possess strong verbal/written communication skills, and have the ability to trouble shoot, problem solve and balance conflicting demands.
  • Role requires independent decision making and sound judgment capabilities, with a strong attention to detail and follow through.
  • A demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment, manage difficult and emotional situations, remains calm under stress, display empathy and maintain positive communication is also required.
  • Must have strong keyboarding and computer skills.
  • Demonstrates basic understanding of insurance terminology.
  • Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom.
  • Must be fluent in English.
