Position descriptionThe CRNA team at Mayo Clinic Arizona has grown exponentially in recent years and is now an expansive practice of more than 50 practitioners. The large volume of cases, integrated with ongoing research and education, results in a wide-ranging expertise in the anesthetic management of patients. Mayo Clinic uses the Anesthesia Care Team Model where CRNAs work collaboratively with anesthesiologists to provide the best possible care. As a member of the Mayo Clinic team, there is the opportunity to take part in some of the most advanced procedures, including Heart, Lung, Liver, Pancreas and Kidney transplants, Robotic surgeries in GYN, Urology, General, ENT, Orthopedic, Thoracic, and Cardiac. There is also an extensive Spine and Neurosurgery program as well as new hybrid Cardiothoracic, Vascular and Neurosurgery operating rooms. In addition, CRNAs provide anesthesia services for the Surgery Center, Endoscopy Suite and Proton Beam Center, where a specialized team manages pediatric care. Mayo Clinic Arizona doesn’t offer OB, Burn, or Trauma services. Beyond practice, CRNAs participate in leadership development through involvement on committees, team projects, education and research.
QualificationsGraduation from a nationally accredited anesthesia program.
Additional qualificationsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills -Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet patient and staff needs -Ability to manage time and stress effectively and adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting -Demonstrated leadership ability and strong computer skills preferred.
License or certificationCurrent Arizona licensure as a Registered Nurse and a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Certification from the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date.
Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) competencies.
