The Department of Medical and Surgical Gynecology at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona, is seeking a full-time, medical gynecologist. The Department of Gynecology consists of eight board-certified physicians providing care to a rich patient mix involving regional, national, and international patients. Gynecologic sub-specialties, including Medical Gynecology, Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS), Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS), Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) and Gynecologic Oncology are represented in the department. The department also supports Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine medical students, residents through ACGME accredited training programs, four fellows through AAGL/FMIGS, and one research fellow.
We are seeking to hire an academic gynecologist who possesses strong interest in education, research, and outpatient/office based gynecologic care. In addition to subspecialty areas described, candidates should also possess a strong interest in fellow, resident, and medical student/clerkship education.
Clinical expertise in one or more of the following focus areas is desired:
- Abnormal Uterine Bleeding
- Cervical Dysplasia
- Complex Contraception
- Complex Pelvic Pain
- Female Sexual Health
- Office based procedures
- Perimenopausal/Menopausal Services
- Vaginal disorders
- Vulvar dermatoses
License or certification
Candidates must be board-certified OB/GYN physicians with prior practice experience in an academic setting. Clinical experience in management of common gynecologic disorders in one or more of the focus areas listed above is preferred. The successful candidate should expect to progress in academic rank through an appointment to the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine with opportunities to secure teaching and examining privileges. Candidates will have dedicated time to participate in leadership roles according to interests in practice, research, and education. Development of a research program focusing on gynecologic conditions necessitating outpatient evaluation and treatment will be encouraged.
