Position description
The Cellular Therapy Technologist will independently perform complex, highly specialized, and time-sensitive cell manipulation procedures on irreplaceable Human Cells, Tissues, and Cellular and Tissue-Based Products (HCT/P's). The technologist is responsible for aseptic handling of HCT/P’s during all phases of processing; performance of accurate and error-free calculations; maintenance of accurate and detailed documentation; adherence to specialized cleaning and gowning requirements; and for ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards, such as cGMP, cGTP, AABB, and FACT.
Qualifications
Bachelors of Science degree required.
Visa sponsorship not provided for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
Additional qualifications
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a cellular therapy laboratory setting; or a minimum of four (4) years of experience in clinical hematology or blood bank setting preferred. Bone marrow and/or stem cell processing, blood banking, hematology, cell culture and apheresis preferred. Experience with operation and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation preferred. Strong organizational skills and problem solving capabilities. Consistent ability to function under time constraints while multi-tasking in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work closely with others and clearly communicate transitions in work processes. Exceptional mathematical skill, analytical skill, and technical dexterity. Ability to function in a cleanroom environment and sustain prolonged physical exertion.
This position is for manufacturing cell therapy product in an cGMP cleanroom facility. cGMP manufacturing experience is preferred. knowledge of Cleanroom requirements preferred. previous experience with cell manipulation strongly preferred.
