Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona is expanding their complement of breast medicine physicians. We are conducting a search for a full-time internal medicine physician who is interested in building a clinical and research career in High Risk Breast medicine. The ideal candidate would have current knowledge or training in breast medicine or be willing to be trained in the specialty.
At the Mayo Clinic, Breast medicine physicians care for patients who are at high risk of breast cancer or predisposition to hereditary breast cancer mutation, and create personalized breast cancer prevention and risk reducing strategies that include advanced breast imaging recommendations, lifestyle intervention and modification strategies, and prevention medication options. Further, they partner with our dedicated nurse navigator to provide education and coordination of patients with mammographic abnormality, abnormal breast findings or concerns. There is strong collaboration with the Department of Clinical Genomics and is comprised of genetic counselors and physicians (medical geneticist, gastroenterologist) who focus on other cancer predisposition syndromes. This provides ample opportunity for collaboration and multi-disciplinary management of patients at increased risk of breast and other cancers.
The High Risk Breast Clinic is part of the Breast Center and is an integrated multidisciplinary practice that includes: radiology, breast medicine, breast surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, plastic surgery, integrative medicine (nutrition, acupuncture), and physical medicine and rehabilitation. The Center has an active Clinical Trials portfolio composed of national cooperative group, investigator initiated, and industry sponsored trials. The Center has robust research support staff, data analysts, and coordinators, and works closely with the other Mayo Clinic sites to leverage skills, resources and collaboration.

License or certification
BE or BC in Internal Medicine, advanced training in breast medicine is desirable. Must be able to obtain an Arizona medical license.
