Position description
The Division of Neurocognitive Disorders, within the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, is recruiting an adult Clinical Neuropsychologist or Rehabilitation Psychologist to support the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. This Neuropsychologist/Rehabilitation Psychologist will provide initial consultation for all patients being admitted to the Brain Rehabilitation service and support a multi-specialty team of clinicians (including occupational therapists, speech therapists, physical therapists, social workers, recreation therapists, nurses) providing direct support to patients throughout their rehabilitation admission. The ideal candidate would have strong knowledge of the neurobehavioral sequelae of brain injury as well as previous experience working within a complex rehabilitation team. This candidate will have the opportunity to shape neuropsychological care within the larger Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, including the opportunity to develop more robust treatment programs for patients and caregivers related to cognitive impairment post-injury and adjustment/mood issues. Further, Mayo Clinic is one of 16 designated Traumatic Brain Injury Model System (TBIMS) Centers in the US. Our center has been continually funded since 1998 and, in 2022, our TBIMS center was awarded another 5 years of funding. This and other grants have helped to support a substantial amount of brain rehabilitation research in collaboration with local, regional and national partners. We encourage all applicants with rehabilitation expertise to apply (early to late career), including second year postdoctoral fellows who are completing training in 2023. This Neuropsychologist will be joining a warm and supportive Division comprised of 14 Board-Certified Neuropsychologists and Rehabilitation Psychologists and will benefit from generous administrative and technical support for their practice. As an academic institution, active engagement in research and education is expected with resources available for program development and scholarly pursuits. Faculty appointment will be commensurate with experience.
License or certification
Candidates must be eligible for licensure in the state of Minnesota and be Board-certified/Board-eligible through the American Board of Professional Psychology. Requirements for the position include completion of an APA- or CPA-accredited doctoral program/internship, and a post-doctoral fellowship with epilepsy experience. Applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in multidisciplinary clinical, educational, and research collaboration and excellent interpersonal communication and leadership abilities.
