The Mayo Clinic Special Purpose Processor Development Group (SPPDG) is seeking a Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO)/CPSO to support the security posture of the SPPDG. The SPPDG is an R&D team dedicated to the development of next generation electronics technologies for high-speed signal processing applications, in particular for, though not limited to, high clock rate digital signal processors and wide bandwidth, high center frequency analog systems.

Position description
Supports the SPPDG security mission, including implementing and supporting all security procedures in accordance with Mayo Clinic policies, the NISPOM, and other applicable government agency guiding doctrine.
Works with the FSO to support multiple facets of security operation, including but not limited to information security, physical security, visitor control, badging, document control, classification management, personnel security, security investigations, developing and delivering security briefings, self-inspections, and risk identification/mitigation strategies.
Communicates with clearance granting agencies regarding personnel security clearance status, periodic reinvestigations, and incidents.
Aids in creation and distribution of annual security training both cleared and uncleared personnel.
Demonstrates OPSEC best practice methodologies and supports the crafting of plans and procedures as needed.
Supports the administration of personnel security briefings, indoctrinations, and debriefings in accordance with the respective Cognizant Security Agency’s (CSA) guiding doctrine.
Conducts periodic reviews of documentation for proper security controls and markings as well as random inspections.
Supports staff appointed as Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and Officer (ISSO) with administrative duties and other general security guidance and project planning.
Willing to serve in a program security specialist capacity and travel as needed. Expected to provide after-hours alarm responder support.
Performs other security related tasks as directed by the FSO.
Qualifications
Five or more years of experience serving as a security specialist working in US Government classified project environments (Government and/or corporate employers). Bachelor’s degree or equivalent coursework in related field(s) is considered beneficial though not required.
Additional qualifications
Experience serving in a security role for the U.S. Government or contracted industry partners as a CSSO, CPSO, or FSO. Completion of CSSO/CPSO training within the past two years is preferred, otherwise completion of CSSO/CPSO training is required within the first year of employment. Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Working knowledge of U.S. Government personnel security clearance databases such as DISS, NBIS, NISS, NCAISS, SWFT is preferred. Experience with COMSEC management databases and websites (e.g., DIAS, COR, Key Support, Secure Phone) is preferred.
Requires sufficient understanding of industrial security processes and procedures as well as CSSO training. Familiarity with eMASS database and RMF Knowledge Service website/resources is preferred.
Must be a self-starter, highly organized, efficient, and multifunctional, with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
License or certification
Must possess active TS/SCI U.S. government security clearance w/ Full Scope Polygraph.
Completion of the DoD Security Fundamentals Professional Certificate (SFPC) and Industrial Security Oversight Certificate (ISOC) required within the first 6 months of appointment. Will seek appropriate certifications as required by DoD 8570.01-M as necessary.

$98,030.40 - $147,097.60 / year; Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
