In addition, the position may help evaluate the commercial potential of a variety of inventions/discoveries, and then identify, develop and help source new technology commercialization opportunities, in conjunction with technology licensing managers, patent liaisons and attorneys, treasury services, and other ventures-focused staff. Additional skills and responsibilities, either through individual work contribution or through working within and helping to lead project-oriented teams, may include: contributions to strategic planning and prioritization, business plan creation, due diligence, market research, marketing plan development, concept analysis, business model development, financial pro-forma development and analysis, valuations, legal/regulatory issues assessment, and monitoring product/operating unit performance. To this end, successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the development of a network of industry, entrepreneurial and investor contacts to serve as a resource for business development and/or commercialization activities. Success in the role will be primarily related to the incumbent’s ability to shepherd an opportunity from concept to final disposition, and in contributing to the messaging and consensus-building required to reach decisions in a highly-matrixed academic medical center environment.

• Large-opportunity development related to any of the above areas, resulting in high-value, high-visibility outcomes
NOTE: This role will focus on, and report to a Corporate Development Executive department leader for one of the above “verticals”; therefore candidates should make clear via cover letter or other communication which specific “vertical” they are interested in, if it is not self-evident in the CV/resume itself.

consulting firm, financial institution, academic medical center, or Corporate Development team of a large national or multinational relevant industry company may be viewed especially favorably. Must have the demonstrated ability to manage complex inter- and intra-organizational issues and relationships.
