Position description
The Division of Ultrasound in the Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is seeking a qualified radiologist with interest in ultrasound imaging and a commitment to clinical excellence. Responsibilities will include general outpatient and inpatient diagnostic ultrasound exam interpretation as well as dedicated time in our high-volume ultrasound procedural practice. Experience and interest in CT-guided procedures is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to advancing the science, practice, and/or teaching of ultrasound and image-guided procedures.

The Department of Radiology in Rochester performs over 65,000 diagnostic ultrasound exams and 8,500 ultrasound-guided procedures per year. In addition to the standard scope of diagnostic GI, GU, Head and Neck, and Vascular Ultrasound, our practice also includes a large volume of subspecialty examinations, including transplant ultrasound, contrast-enhanced ultrasound, diagnostic and procedural MSK ultrasound, ultrasound-guided neck ethanol and RF ablations, and arterial vascular exams for interested radiologists. OB ultrasound examinations are limited to urgent/ER cases. For those with interest and expertise in more advanced OB ultrasound, opportunities for rotation to that department could be considered.

As a modality-based division, we share staff and closely collaborate with other Radiology divisions. This position will have a clinical emphasis on ultrasound, with flexibility to participate in other areas of radiology, such as abdominal imaging, hospital/ER, and/or sub-specialized practices in vascular and MSK ultrasound.

Mayo Clinic Radiology has a large residency program with multiple Body Imaging & Intervention fellowship positions each year as well as a highly regarded medical school.

Mayo Clinic offers significant infrastructure for clinically driven investigation. The division is supported by dedicated ultrasound research and education resources. A cooperative administrative partnership model enhances professional satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional clinical skills, a commitment to excellence in patient care, sincere interest in clinical research and innovation, and enthusiasm for resident education.
