Position description
Mayo Clinic’s Department of Psychiatry and Psychology in Rochester, Minnesota is seeking an outstanding academic psychiatrist, with a strong interest in emergency psychiatry, to join our adult psychiatry hospitalist team. This unique position provides the opportunity to practice with our psychiatric emergency teaching service located in the emergency department. Our division also offers the following clinical opportunities: a consultation liaison service, a specialized mood disorder unit, a combined geriatric and medical psychiatric unit, and an adult acute care unit. As an academic institution, active engagement in research and education is expected. New resources are available for program development and scholarly pursuits. Faculty appointment will be commensurate with experience. All of our hospital services take particular pride in a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care. Teams are comprised of clinicians (psychiatrists, advanced practice providers and social workers), nursing, and learners of all levels (medical students, resident physicians, fellows, nurse practitioners and physician assistant students, nursing students). License or certification
Qualified candidates must meet the following requirements:
Must be eligible for licensure in the state of Minnesota.
Must be board-certified/board-eligible through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry.
Board eligibility in Psychosomatic Medicine or Internal Medicine is welcomed but not required.
Interest and experience in Emergency Psychiatry is of added benefit.
