Reporting to the Executive Director, the Airport Marketing & Communications Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the marketing plans in support of air service development, customer service initiatives, and overall promotion of the Rochester International Airport (RST) to the airlines, business, and community. Works cooperatively with a variety of other personnel, customers and tenants within the Airport. Builds marketing plans, as well as drives, implements, monitors, and measures results of marketing activities to advance RST’s mission, strategic plan and business objectives. Strategic evaluation and tactical execution of marketing activities, which may include advertising, collateral development, digital marketing, social media, content creation/assessment, and event management/sponsorship. Manages media relations. Demonstrates a strong understanding of marketing, critical thinking, and strategic planning. Develops consumer advocacy & experience programs. Implements, manages, and monitors Airport Customer Service training and performance metrics. Initiates and participates in community engagement activities in promotion of the Airport. Develops and implements an air service development plan to entice future airline service. Develops and implements programs to attract new business to the Airport. Manages and maintains in-terminal advertising contracts and visual displays. Proactively seeks opportunities to build and improve positive relationships with colleagues, leaders, and experts. Understands and acts independently to drive functional strategies forward to advance RST’s mission, strategic plan and business goals. Builds credibility with peers and stakeholders. Assesses opportunities for improvements and demonstrates willingness and ability to adapt to change. Conveys confidence, clarity, and transparency in communications with stakeholders and leaders, and will represent RST in key community partnerships. Proactively contributes to business planning, marketing planning, and strategy development. Will have budget oversight, accountability and reporting.
A bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance in a related field, which may include liberal arts, business, marketing, or similar field, plus 3 years professional experience in a relevant field.
Broad based knowledge of marketing and customer service. Requires strong leadership, problem solving, critical thinking, active listening, quantitative skills, persuasive oral and written communication skills, project management, presentation skills, and interpersonal skills. Must be comfortable in a fast-paced and changing environment. Must possess the ability to inspire trust and confidence and maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively to prioritize and drive forward multiple projects. Must possess high personal motivation supporting a strong work ethic, flexibility, and creativity. Has a positive influence on others. Position requires occasional travel and the flexibility to work weekends and evenings as necessary.
License or certification
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $ 2,548.00, based on a full-time position.
Hours / Pay period
Monday - Friday, typically 8 - 5 p.m. Central Time, but may vary depending on business needs.
