Position description
Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Radiologist to join our practice. The ideal candidate would have an interest in another established area of expertise within radiology in addition to Nuclear Medicine. The applicant should be seeking an advanced state of the art clinical practice with opportunities for research and education. This opportunity offers a collegial work environment, a competitive benefits package, and an excellent quality of practice.

The position will include participation in our clinical and research Nuclear Medicine practice, including general nuclear medicine, radiotherapy including peptide-receptor radiotherapy, cardiac, oncologic and neurologic SPECT/CT, PET/CT and PET/MR practice. The Nuclear Medicine division consists of 22 dedicated clinical and research physicians. The clinical practice conducts nearly 40,000 Nuclear Medicine exams per year with more than 13,000 PET/CT examinations

A PET/MRI has been installed and is operational for clinical and research activities with a growing volume of clinical PET/MR examinations that help support a rapidly growing therapy practice. The clinical practice is supported by a dedicated research PET/CT and small animal imaging facility. A new 8,000 square foot hospital outpatient nuclear theragnostic facility is approved and funded to support both clinical and research receptor-ligand radiotherapy and dosimetry, with anticipated opening in less than 1 year.

Extensive educational opportunities exist particularly given Mayo Clinic’s global patient mix. There are nuclear medicine fellowship positions available each year and over 50 trainees in the residency program.
