Why Mayo ClinicThe heart care practice at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is one of the broadest and largest in the world. Members of the Department of Cardiovascular Diseases care for approximately 55,000 patients annually. Patients have access to cardiologists in 26 dedicated clinics and laboratories who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of more than 120 cardiovascular diseases and conditions. This hospital-based provider will work collaboratively within interprofessional teams including consultants, cardiology fellows, medical residents, nurses, and NP PA colleagues.
Position descriptionThe inpatient APP provider is adept at evaluating and managing acutely ill adult patients in the PCU hospital setting. The inpatient role requires timely assessment and intervention in urgent and emergent situations. Provision of care includes but is not limited to: comprehensive physical assessment; ordering and interpretation of diagnostic tests; management of chronic and acute medical conditions; prescribing medications and treatments; and counseling for health promotion and disease prevention. Patient and family education about disease process, post hospital follow up care plan and health promotion is an important part of this role.
Inpatient Cardiology consists of multiple service lines that the APP would work on caring for patient subsets with diagnoses including: arrhythmias, circulatory failure, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, ischemic disease, structural abnormalities and comprehensive cardiology. The APP hospital based provider will work collaboratively with consultants, cardiology fellows, other APP staff members as well as clinical assistants, nurses. Our services are covered 24/7 by APP staff, with additional compensation for evenings, nights and weekends.

Ideal candidates would have a continual desire to learn and grow as a Cardiology provider.
Compensation is calculated and based off of education and experience. The base range of this position would be $110,000.00 - $170,000.00.
Benefit-eligible employees (50-100% FTE) receive up to 7 trip days (commensurate with time away from practice as approved off the schedule by a supervisor) and an annual allotment of $4,400.

Relocation
- Relocation is allotted for candidates 70 or more miles away from Rochester, MN.
Shift Differential: This is a 24/7 position and would be eligible for shift differential.
- Day Shift Rate: 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Weekday: Not applicable
- Weekend: $4.00
- Evening Shift Rate: 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Weekday: $3.80
- Weekend: $7.80
- Night Shift Rate: 10 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Weekday: $7.00
- Weekend: $11.00
QualificationsMasters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN and APRN license and certified as an ANP, ACNP or FNP.
Prior inpatient nursing experience required. Or graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.
Must have BLS and ACLS certification. DEA registration will be required.
