At the direction of a physician or therapist, provides/assists with physical medicine interventions, monitors patients during interventions and communicates change/concerns with team members; demonstrates understanding of PM&R procedures and medical terminology related to duties; demonstrates a basic knowledge of sterile procedures and proper body mechanics related to patient care; maintains a clean and safe work environment including ordering/maintenance of equipment and supplies; demonstrates knowledge of basic computer programs; assists with clerical and administrative tasks as assigned. Position requires the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and the ability to work with a diverse patient population, e.g., ethnic diversity, patients with physical and psychosocial impairments, etc. This PM&R tech will rotate between many work areas including Hand Clinic, Mayo 14, Mayo 16 Pediatrics, and the Baldwin Building. In addition, the weekend location will be in the acute care hospital setting. We currently have 1 full time position available as well as one .8 position to apply to.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Additional education, experience and skill in the field of human services preferred. Ability to use electronic equipment which may include computers, telephones, and video cameras is required. Interpersonal skills are required for effective communication.
$17.61- $23.95 / hour
Hours / Pay period
Working Monday-Friday with varied start hours between 7:00-4:00, 7:30-4:30 or 8:00-5:00, depending on work unit assignment.
A weekend rotation assisting in the hospital acute care therapy department
We have 2 positions available at this time: 1.) A Full-Time position (80 hours/pay period), 2.) A .8 position (64 hours/pay period)
Weekend rotation, in the acute care hospital therapy setting, working approximately once every 8-9th weekend with hours varying depending on location.
