The Center for Digital Health (CDH) serves as Mayo Clinic's hub for digital transformation, supporting business and consumer needs across sites, shields (Practice, Education & Research), and other lines of business. The Center houses core teams of digital experts and creative problem-solvers positioned to help our partners translate Mayo Clinic business objectives into digital strategy and solutions that drive high-value with measurable outcomes. Expertise in assessing business and user needs, research, design, strategy, technology, architecture, measurement, and optimization are core to these teams, in addition to a focus on driving outcomes. The teams lead with passion for optimizing industry-leading user experience and ensuring alignment across the Mayo Clinic consumer experience.

This role will report to the Senior Director and be assigned to the Consumer Insights & Analytics CoE that spans Digital Analytics, Digital Engineering, Search Engine Optimization and Digital Optimization (A/B Testing) teams, who provide services to CDH products and enterprise departments utilizing internal and external, tools and technologies.  The person in this role will partner with peer Managers of each of the CoE teams.  This role will define and execute the overarching strategies for all teams related to project related expansion of services, delivery.  In addition, this role will develop and manage communications, operational plans, tracking and monitoring critical key metrics, CoE value stream metrics, manage technology agreements, expansion work backlog, CoE capacity, ensure project deliverables and services are delivered on time and on budget managing risks and priorities.  Leverages deep technology, process, and domain expertise to drive execution across multiple interdependent projects within a program working with multiple technical, product and project teams.

Leads and builds comprehensive Delivery Management function and team in support of portfolio(s) that are aligned against the CDH vision, product needs, and overarching Mayo Clinic digital strategy and priorities. Responsible for driving the timely delivery of digital products and software on behalf of the business owner and product and engineering/IT teams across entire Product or Platform organization. Ensures team performance and adherence to enterprise methods for requirements gathering, validation, maintenance, tracking. Partners with Sr. Director, Director and other Principal level roles in Product Management to create and foster best practices to ensure team processes are in place, works with product managers to define and maintain product roadmaps, and manages resource allocation and forecasting to deliver projects. Collaborates with other Principal level roles assigned to portfolio(s) to ensure team is driving product delivery through financial, development and resource management. Identifies and manages dependencies between teams and between products, platforms, and operations at the enterprise level. Reports on comprehensive product progress and resolves or escalates risks and issues to Sr. Director, Director and as needed CDH executive leadership. Leader in Agile product life-cycle management. Develops tool set, frameworks, and best practices to ensure delivery management team is a critical enabler for product and platform teams. Stays on the pulse of CDH's product and/or platform architecture needs to proactively identify and alleviate bottlenecks in organizational progress and ability to hit critical deadlines. Co-leads Delivery Management Chapter to develop, promote and evolve soft and hard skills to identify and mitigate risk throughout the product lifecycle. Actively supports culture of empowered teams. Actively builds, retains, coaches, mentors Delivery colleagues and Scrum team members. Creates frameworks, guidelines, and best practices to ensure best in class and consistent application in delivery management methodologies. Partners closely with organization-wide IT and Engineering leadership to support enterprise coordination efforts and priorities. Builds close relationships with priority internal and external partners to ensure delivery management team is able to maximize their support and impact. Ensure delivery of high-value products in alignment with business goals and user experience optimization. Leads daily Scrum ceremony, advocates for iterative design, build, test of end-user solutions based on pain points, requirements, change request and strives to make product technology and workflows easy to use. Collaborates on and/or co-leads with Product Manager in backlog grooming, roadmap definition, sprint backlog grooming, end of sprint demos and retrospectives. Produces and socializes scrum metrics – velocity, capacity and burn down charts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 6+ years' experience in digital product delivery management, scrum master, or another equivalent role. 

Additional Experience and/or Qualifications:

Manage initiatives across several development teams (external & internal) with multiple matrixed stakeholder groups within a complex multi-layered governance structure. Work has high to very high-risk interdependencies and may have major costs associated. Able to work across multiple products, managing complex initiatives, along with ongoing releases and new product development. Able to build a release process and framework which relies on Agile principles and engineering CI/CD best practices. Serves as the "go-to" digital product delivery expert for assigned product(s) and or portfolio(s) within Mayo Clinic. Demonstrated leadership in and drives best practices to support best in class delivery for product discovery and development operations. Expert leveraging Agile product methodologies. Able to effectively communicate/ translate overarching CDH product and/or platform vision, strategy and design amongst product, engineering/IT, UX/UI, Operations teams and other senior leaders in the organization. Drives team efforts to understand new and emerging digital technologies and health care products and adapts work processes to reflect changes in design, build and delivery approaches. Provides hands-on guidance for team as needed to creatively problem-solves to remove obstacles to enable digital product delivery (on-time, within budget, and fulfilling documented requirements). Demonstrated expertise in technical knowledge and possesses demonstrated leadership working with engineering/IT teams. Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships at multiple levels of the organization. Effective (or Strong) communicator (written & verbal) with active listening skills. Ability to facilitate small group/team discussions. Professional and reflects Mayo Clinic values and beliefs. Strong planning & organizational skills. Proactive and able to navigate conflict and help find resolution. Problem solver with ability to maintain a keen attention to detail and manage multiple initiatives. Strong familiarity with Scrum – Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Advanced Certified Scrum Master (ACSM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner, or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) preferred. Proven experience in product management for life sciences, health payor, or regulated industries (e.g., commodities, banking, information managed systems for digital education, government and or non-profit) experience preferred.
