This is the fourth in a series of four revenue cycle analyst roles in a multi-site, multi-specialty academic medical center. Works collaboratively in a team environment to support the hospital, surgical and clinical practices as well as Mayo Clinic leadership on revenue cycle issues. Actively communicate and present pertinent information to various audiences, particularly revenue cycle, practice and finance leadership. In addition, communication to senior leaders and formal Mayo committees is expected. Initiates and is responsible for identifying opportunities and recommends options for enhancing revenue and process efficiencies, while preserving Mayo standards and minimizing the financial and legal risks to Mayo. Is recognized and relied upon as a subject matter expert in multiple revenue cycle areas who can recognize problems, formulate solutions and recommend changes in revenue, process efficiency and compliance areas. Uses reporting tools to understand risks and opportunities with significant impact to Mayo Clinic and conveys these along with impact and recommendations to leadership. Conducts research and analysis, benchmarking, and audits to ensure reasonableness and accuracy of information along with identifying and implementing best practices and improvements. Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of complex programs and tools; the interpretation and implementation of new solutions; and identifies opportunities and recommends options for increasing financial margins. Provides expert revenue cycle analytics to support department and institutional leadership. Actively participates in decision-making related to revenue cycle opportunities and is responsible for formulating and validating recommendations. Leads and facilitates multi-disciplinary workgroups or projects. Mentors, coaches, and trains staff.
Bachelor's Degree in economics, mathematics, business administration, accounting, finance, healthcare business related fields or statistics and 11 years of relevant experience;
High School diploma and 15 years relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
Master's degree with 9 years' relevant experience preferred. Has advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Has an advanced understanding of coding, billing and compliance practices. Has expert knowledge of large revenue recognition systems and practice billing systems. Possesses expert investigational skills, shows attention to detail, accuracy and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to work independently. Possess initiative, analytical skills, and an ability to operate with a high level of productivity. Demonstrates advanced communication and presentation skills. Ability to work and lead in a team environment and develop constructive working relationships with others. Able to lead others through difficult situations.
License or certification
Coding/Compliance Certification preferred.
$88,296 - $123,614 / year
Hours / Pay period
100% Remote, can be seated at any site.
Monday thru Friday 8am thru 5pm
