Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities of this position include: Evaluating and treating the residents in the Short Term Rehabilitation Center in Charter House with communication disorders; participation as a member of an interdisciplinary team in a long-term care facility; evaluation and treatment of elderly patients with communication impairments; evaluation and treatment of dysphagia; establishing augmentative/alternative communication systems for patients; participating in staff/division meetings; and involvement in designated committees/special interest groups/tasks forces.
Qualifications
MS or MA degree in Speech-Language Pathology; Experience evaluating and treating adults with speech, language, communication, cognitive, and swallowing impairments.
Additional Qualifications
Experience working within senior housing is preferred.
License or Certification
Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association; Current State of Minnesota Department of Health Speech-Language Pathology License. The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for minding and maintaining current/valid ASHA Membership and Certification as well as current/valid Speech-Language Pathology licensure from the State of Minnesota Department of Health. Charter House is responsible for providing sufficient continuing education experiences/opportunities for the SLP to maintain certification and licensure.
Qualifications
