Position description
As the Director, Strategic Intelligence and Foresight, you'll be on the leading edge of helping Mayo Clinic prepare for the future. You'll lead a team that monitors the environment and anticipates future changes with a focus on informing and driving strategic decisions. As a curious individual and critical thinker, you'll look beyond the obvious to identify implications and make sound recommendations on strategic moves the organization should pursue. You'll have excellent written and verbal communication skills to help others engage with the team's content and lead change.

The Director, Strategy provides administrative leadership and strategic direction for a functional division or client team, and often serves as a key partner to sites, shields and administration. Partners with senior leaders to drive innovation, challenge the status quo and implement solutions and programs to advance priorities. Responsible for ensuring deliverables are met and outcomes achieved. Works across the department to ensure a shared and single voice with customers. Establishes and maintains strong customer relationships with both internal and external partners. The Director helps to optimize operational performance within the assigned service line. Serves as a thought partner and project liaison outside of Strategy at all levels, helping to proactively identify and communicate business issues, coordinate project activities, streamline strategy approaches/methodologies, and share best practices. Stewards the interest of the organization by ensuring strategies are economically viable, strategically sound, administratively feasible and legally correct. Fosters an internal culture of positive teamwork and transparency that drives excellent service, quality, diversity of thought, an engaging work environment and overall continuous improvement mindset. Serve as change agent, championing agile ways of thinking and working and enabling teams and individuals for success.

Drives excellence in financial management, communication (verbal, written and presentations), business and strategic planning, performance monitoring and reporting. Supports department, division and institutional projects, staff recruitment, policy implementation and budget management.

• Bachelor’s degree and 8 years experience, or Master’s degree and 6 years experience.
• Experience should be in strategy, health care, client service, management consulting, project management or analytics.

Additional qualifications
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Experience with focus on strategy, client services, management consulting, project management, analysis or operations.
• Five years of people leadership experience preferred.
• Strong alignment with Mayo’s core values.
• Resilient change agent that thrives in ambiguity. Comfort working in an empowered fashion with minimal direction and under pressure.
• Relationship oriented, high performing individual with a strong balance of EQ and IQ.
• Demonstrates executive presence and servant leadership.
• Must possess strong leadership, business, analytical, oral and written communication, presentation skills, and superior interpersonal skills to facilitate effective relationships both within and outside of Mayo Clinic.
• Solid organizational skill as well as direct or indirect project management skills/experience.
• Successful track record to work effectively in a complex, consensus environment that expects and promotes teamwork.
• Strong strategic judgment.
• Ability to evaluate and improve upon existing processes and develop/implement new processes where appropriate. Meets deadlines with enthusiasm and confidence. Proactively identifies and mitigates risk with meticulous project planning and creative solutions.
• Must demonstrate ability to handle sensitive/confidential/proprietary information.
• Ability to work across a matrix organization with excellent communication and customer service orientation.
• Ability to prioritize and communicate priorities well in alignment with strategy.

$147,929.60 - $214,489.60 / year
