Mayo Clinic Health System (MCHS) Tomah is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join a team of family medicine physicians in an integrated approach to maternal and women’s health care. Join a collaborative team in the Southwest Wisconsin region working to provide the highest standard of evidence-based care. Mayo Clinic midwives provide antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care along with well woman gynecologic care in the clinic setting. Labor and birth care is provided within a group of family practice physicians in a 1:6 call model with additional call hours available for midwifery patients. Births are attended at Tomah Health, a local independent hospital facility in Tomah, WI. As a team, the providers assist in the delivery of approximately 250 babies each year.
The Certified Nurse Midwives at Mayo Clinic provide a full range of health care services for women, including primary care, gynecologic and family planning services, IUD and Nexplanon contraception, preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum care, and treatment of male partners for sexually transmitted infections. CNMs have the opportunity to collaborate with their midwifery and nurse practitioner colleagues in LaCrosse and the Mayo Clinic health system as well as take shifts at other campus sites to gain additional clinical experience.
CNMs are eligible for faculty status through the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science and have the opportunity to provide didactic and clinical teaching to learners throughout their educational program. Mayo Clinic midwives focus on clinical excellence, academic teaching, quality improvement and research to further the advancement of their profession. QualificationsMaster’s prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and nurse-midwife program. Current Wisconsin RN license and certification (or eligible to be certified) as a Certified Nurse Midwife.
Must be eligible for DEA registration. Basic Life Support certification required.
License or certificationEligible for RN and APRN licensure in Wisconsin. Active CNM/AMCB certification. Current BLS certification and NRP. Must be eligible for DEA registration and billing privileges.

Clinic hours vary between Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm; Labor & Delivery care at Tomah Health. Labor and Delivery call coverage within a 1:6 call schedule with five family practice physicians who do obstetrics. Hospital has a credentialed obstetrician scheduled on staff for surgical backup. Includes night and weekend schedule.
