Mayo Clinic practices cutting-edge, tertiary level dermatologic care in a multi-disciplinary collaborative setting that continues to emphasize the needs of the patients. The successful candidate will join our department of­ 27 dermatologists, 25 residents and 6 subspecialty fellows at Mayo Clinic in Rochester specializing in all aspects of dermatologic care, education and research.

The academic practice at Mayo offers diverse experiences with opportunities in education, research, administration, committee membership, clinical collaboration, teledermatology, innovative technology, sub-specialty clinics and clinical trials. A subspecialty interest in medical dermatology will be encouraged and fostered. In addition, the candidate will have ability to directly collaborate with Mayo’s dermatopathologists, pediatric dermatologists and surgical dermatologists, as well as with a broad range of engaged specialists in all fields of medicine and research. The candidate will also have access to a broad range of internal institutional funding opportunities and institutional support for external funding mechanisms.

Position description
The Department of Dermatology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, is seeking an academic ­medical dermatologist/scholarly clinician to join our growing practice. This candidate should have an interest in complex medical dermatologic care of adult patients, and should have a track record in research and other scholarly activities, with a focus on continued academic excellence.

The expectation of the scholarly clinician is to establish an independent research program in addition to conducting a clinical practice focused on complex medical dermatology. Available resources include an established Dermatology clinical trials research infrastructure and staff, mentoring program, and access to the many research resources available at Mayo Clinic.
License or certification
Candidates must have completed a residency in dermatology accredited by the ACGME and be board-certified / board-eligible by the American Board of Dermatology and eligible for medical licensure in the state of Minnesota. Successful candidates will also have an interest in a career in academic dermatology with an emphasis on complex clinical dermatology and research.
