The Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is seeking a neonatologist to join our growing academic practice.
The Division of Neonatal Medicine at Mayo Clinic provides specialty consultative care to pregnant mothers and newborns with routine to highly complex medical and surgical conditions. We will move into our new, state-of-the-art Level IV NICU in early 2022. The division specializes in family-centered, highly integrated and multispecialty care across the continuum of neonatal conditions. We partner with world-class medical and surgical subspecialists, including pediatric cardiology, cardiac surgery, otorhinolaryngology, as well as fetal and general pediatric surgery.
Mayo Clinic serves as a major referral center in the upper Midwest and has one of the most advanced medical transport services in the country. We have a teleneonatology program integrated into our clinical practice to provide remote resuscitation and consultation services to hospitals outside of the Rochester, MN practice. There will be an expectation of academic productivity beyond the clinical responsibilities required. - The division seeks an additional member with complementary clinical and research expertise.
- Candidates with interest, formal training (e.g. MHPE), and expertise in education scholarship and administration are preferred, as members of the division faculty historically have held leadership positions in graduate medical education (residency, fellowship, institution).
- The candidate will excel at leading a multidisciplinary team and have excellent communication skills.
- Primary responsibilities will be clinical service in the neonatal intensive care units, the neonatal resuscitation room, and teleneonatology coverage.
- The candidate will have a defined academic trajectory that includes graduate medical education innovation at the program, department and institution/enterprise levels, as well as a plan to disseminate those innovations.
The initial position will be 100% clinically focused. Reduction in clinical responsibilities will depend upon the ability to secure intra- and extramural funding for academic and administrative responsibilities.
