Provides leadership oversight, direction, and mentoring to Pharmacy operations and clinical staff. Participates in the development of pharmacy strategic direction, cost containment initiatives, and practice optimization activities. Manages and ensures Pharmacy operations are within established targets, incorporates best practices, optimizes patient safety, and ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, and Joint Commission accreditation standards. Leads planning, organizing, improvement and resource management initiatives. Provides leadership and actively participates in institutional drug diversion and medication-related activities. Actively promotes, facilitates and participates in educational and scholarly activities, and oversees the Pharmacy Residency Programs in Arizona. Participates in and promotes the generation of new knowledge relevant to pharmacy practice. Represents Arizona Department of Pharmacy on committees, cross-functional teams and work groups, and enterprise initiatives. Responsible for transforming organizational values into daily operations yielding an efficient, effective, and caring organization. Responsibilities are accomplished based on Mayo Clinic’s vision, mission, and values. Participates in developing, implementing, maintaining, and evaluating policies, programs, and services related to Pharmacy operations. Demonstrates knowledge and perspective of Mayo Clinic and business operations to know when and where to acquire additional input and expertise. Identifies, initiates, and organizes opportunities to improve service and quality and to act as a catalyst for realizing these improvements.
Bachelor's degree from accredited College of Pharmacy or PharmD required. Master’s degree and a minimum of six (6) years’ Pharmacist experience, which includes four (4) years of progressive Pharmacy leadership experience required.
Demonstrated leadership experience in working with or supervising a clinical pharmacy program.
Demonstrated ability to promote collaboration across multidisciplinary services.
Demonstrated skills as a change agent and in change management.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated strategic planning, organizational, and communication skills.
License or certification
Current Arizona State Board of Pharmacy license.
