The Asst. Supervisor provides daily direction and support to dispatchers and air communication specialists. Ensures adequate staffing levels for a 24/7 operation. Problem solves equipment malfunctions, provides information and direction to inquiries, provides reports as necessary, conducts employee evaluations, participates in the orientation and training of dispatchers, performs timekeeping audits, and oversees the daily functions of the Emergency Communication Center. Provides on-call support for the ECC on designated holidays and weekends. Represents the ECC in the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) role when providing on-call coverage. Functions in the role of an Emergency Medical Dispatcher approximately 50% of the time.
Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university with course work in liberal arts, business management, emergency services, health administration, or related field. Candidates without an Associate's Degree must agree at the time of hire to obtain an Associate's Degree through the successful (passing grade of “C” or better) completion within 2 years. Four or more years of emergency medical dispatch experience.
A Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
License or certification
Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $24.12 per hour.
Typically 9 hour shifts, 2p-11p or 3p-12p working 4 of the 5 days M-F, subject to change due to operational needs.
