Autopsy Technologist - Anatomic Pathology

Position description
The Autopsy Technologist is responsible for assistance during the autopsy procedure including the pre- and post- autopsy activities and research projects. Will prepare specimens, clean museum boxes and provide archival and retrieval of these for Mayo Medical instructors. Works collaboratively in a LEAN management team based environment with consultants, residents, pathologists' assistants, decedent affairs specialists, medical examiner investigators, researchers, and others. Provides on-call coverage for weekend and holiday autopsy examinations.

**A two-year commitment to this position is required**
Bachelor's degree in mortuary science, medical technology, chemistry, or biological science, is required. Well-developed knowledge of medical terminology, medical practices and human anatomy is required. A degree in mortuary science preferred.

Additional qualifications
Additional science training such as experience working with dissection or sectioning of tissue is desirable.

o Evaluation MUST be completed from an organization listed as a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) OR the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE)

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $28.23 per hour.

Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Weekend schedule
Rotates through approximately every fourth Saturday on-call.
