Position description
The Cardiac Invasive Lab Tech performs multiple roles within the cardiac laboratory, including assisting physician(s) with invasive cardiac laboratory procedures and conducting various cardiac tests to monitor patients’ heart and blood vessel conditions using diverse cardiology equipment. Responsibilities may also include: preparing procedure rooms, prepping patients for procedures, obtaining and recording patient information, assisting physicians in procedure by circulating and scrubbing procedures, X-ray fluoroscopy proficiency, acquire/measure/calculate hemodynamic date, performing blood work analysis, operate ultrasound, clean procedure rooms, and preparing instruments for resterilization.

Directs and practices safety guidelines for themselves, staff and patients. Independently functions during diagnostic and interventions with minimal supervision. Maintains a high level of expertise in specialty procedures within their assigned lab.
Qualifications
Experience: Required: One to two years clinical patient care experience required, if not graduate of Cardiovascular Invasive program. Previous cardiovascular lab experience preferred.

Education: Required: A graduate of diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate academic program in health sciences required (includes, but not limited to cardiovascular technology, nursing, paramedic, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or ultrasound.) Preferred: Graduate of a Cardiovascular Invasive program preferred.

Additional qualifications
Training: Required: Successful completion of Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Cardiac Interventional (CI) or Vascular Interventional (VI) exam required within two years of hire. ACLS required within six months of hire.

Special Skills: Required: Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

License or certification
Licensure & Certification: Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within six months of hire. RCIS credential or ARRT advanced certification within two years of hire.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $27.42 per hour.
