Northland Hospital in Barron, WI is looking for a full-time CRNA. Northland is part of the Mayo Clinic Health System. Four full-time CRNAs, as well as one per diem staff, provide coverage to the hospital and an outpatient procedure area. This position also helps support a procedure area in Bloomer, WI. The call is two nights per week and one weekend in 3. The current staffing model is two weeks on and one week off, but that may change in the future as the workload, and on-call responsibilities increase.

This is a CRNA only practice, and the candidate should be comfortable working independently.

The case mix includes; general surgery, OB/GYN, GI endoscopy, orthopedics, urology, and podiatry. The CRNA must have some basic experience with regional anesthesia as well as upper and lower extremity blocks and ultrasound. Experience with labor analgesia/anesthesia preferred. The care team at Northland is friendly and professional.

Competitive Compensation - Competitive salary (approximately $181,000 - $213,000), $10,000 sign-on bonus, interview reimbursement, up to $20,000 relocation (taxable), rare pension plan in addition to a 403(b) with employer match and additional 457(b) option. Position description
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) performs clinical anesthesia duties and takes appropriate responsibility for direct patient care and be on-call as assigned. The CRNA prioritizes anesthetic decisions, administers anesthetic agents under department protocols and guidelines, and communicates patient status to healthcare team members. This individual performs coordinating duties by facilitating staff coverage, assignments, and breaks as needed for anesthesia providers. This individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the lifespan. Possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient’s age-specific needs as required. The CRNA demonstrates leadership through involvement on committees and team projects, education, and research and actively seeks to improve the practice through performance improvement initiatives. This individual is active in professional organizations and participates in community activities. Emergency response to airway or code situations may be required. Position requires taking call during the week and on weekends and holidays.

Qualifications
This position requires a registered nurse who has completed a formal program in nurse anesthesia. The anesthetist must pass the national certifying examination for nurse anesthetists within six months of graduation. Within those six months, if the certifying exam is not successfully completed, the candidate cannot be credentialed to practice. Must have a Master’s Degree or higher to be considered. Mayo employees attach three performance reviews. External applicants will be asked to provide three references for follow-up.
Additional qualifications
A minimum of 2 years of CRNA experience is required. A Doctoral (DNP, DNAP, DrAP, PhD) degree preferred.. Pediatric Life Support (PALS) encouraged.
License or certification
A current Registered Nurse and an APNP Wisconsin license is required. Graduate of a Council on Certification of the American Association Program and NBCRNA certification required.

Advanced Cardiac Lift Support (ACLS) required. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required for those working consistently with OB patients.
