The Chief Pharmacy Officer is the recognized leader of pharmacy and provides strong, visible, values driven leadership and advocacy for Pharmacy. Develops and maintains high quality, contemporary pharmacy services and practice across all sites in the Midwest. Ensures the Pharmacy Department delivers the highest value care and services to patients and the organization. Provides clear strategic direction and vision for the Pharmacy Department that aligns with and optimally supports Mayo Clinic strategies and priorities. Assures the Pharmacy Department meets or exceeds all quality, legal, regulatory and accreditation standards. Ensures the presence of a comprehensive, standardized pharmacy education and training program. Ensures and promotes the generation of new knowledge regarding pharmacy and medications.
Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy. Advanced degree (Doctor of Pharmacy degree or Master’s degree in related field). Completion of an accredited pharmacy residency and a minimum of 10 years applicable pharmacy leadership and management experience; or a minimum of 12 years applicable pharmacy leadership and management experience. Applicable experience includes working in an integrated healthcare system that provides hospital-based and outpatient services. Strong commitment and evidence of achieving excellence. Proven history of successfully working in a team environment. Communicates effectively. Proven history of a commitment to patient care and alignment with Mayo Clinic values.
The following are preferred: Master’s degree in business, health care administration or related field in addition to Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Completion of leadership or management educational programs (e.g. ASHP leadership program, Mayo programs, residency administrative experience).

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $8,384.80, based on a full-time position.
