Mayo Clinic is current seeking a Clinical Lab Technician at an offsite facility in Fredericksburg, VA. The successful candidate will be responsible for biological (e.g. blood and urine) specimen receipt, verification, handling and processing. The position is also responsible for facilitating workflow by performing a variety of clerical, processing, and housekeeping duties that include inventory, filing, stocking, receiving shipments, maintaining the work area, and rotating and replenishing inventory. Some lifting is required. The position requires a mature individual who is able to maintain confidentiality of all test results and patient information and must be proficient in taking the proper precautions to avoid potential exposure to infectious/hazardous material. As a part of maintaining the work area, the candidate will be required to clean specimen spills should they occur. It is anticipated that the candidate will provide direction to other remotely based processor employees and Mayo contracted employees.
This position is located in Fredericksburg, VA, and requires a two-year commitment.
Associate's degree in chemistry or human biological science. Must be capable of producing accurate results under time constraints, multi-tasking, and performing in a fast-paced and changing environment. Must possess good communication skills and be able to work closely with others. Must be able to accommodate scheduling adjustments, off-shifts, holiday, on-call, and weekend work assignments.

Experience with operation and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and assay systems is desirable.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $23.10 per hour.
Selected candidate will work offsite for Mayo Clinic in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The schedule will be Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm.
This position has a Monday - Friday schedule. No weekend schedule is planned for this position but should extenuating circumstances occur, we would provide as much advance notice as possible.
