Position description
The Division of Neurocognitive Disorders, within the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, is recruiting a clinical neuropsychologist with expertise in epilepsy. This neuropsychologist will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary epilepsy care team performing neuropsychological evaluations for patients admitted to the epilepsy monitoring unit to inform diagnostic and pre-surgical workup, participation in the epilepsy surgical conference, and enhanced post-operative patient care. An ideal candidate will have experience with ancillary neurocognitive procedures, including Wada testing, mapping of brain function during awake surgery, and prolonged invasive EEG monitoring. Intraoperative monitoring services at Mayo Rochester are growing for patients with cancer and epilepsy. Although we are seeking to hire a neuropsychologist with epilepsy expertise, there will be natural collaboration with our neuropsychologists working with neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, and radiation oncology given overlap in programming needs and technical expertise. This candidate will have the opportunity to shape all aspects of neuropsychological care within the epilepsy service, including the opportunity to provide treatment and intervention services. This neuropsychologist will be joining a warm and supportive division comprised of 13 board certified neuropsychologists and will benefit from generous administrative and technical support for their practice. As an academic institution, active engagement in research and education is expected with resources available for program development and scholarly pursuits. Faculty appointment will be commensurate with experience.
License or certification
Candidates must be eligible for licensure in the state of Minnesota and be Board-certified/Board-eligible through the American Board of Professional Psychology. Requirements for the position include completion of an APA- or CPA-accredited doctoral program/internship, and a post-doctoral fellowship with epilepsy experience.
