The Clinical Specialty Rep for Commercial Sales is responsible for promoting Mayo Clinic's core values and supporting the sale of Mayo Clinic Laboratories (MCL) tests. In alignment with the MCL sales process and the clients they are assigned to work with in collaborative selling. Accountable for generating new business revenue. In collaboration with the Regional Director of Sales, project annual sales growth, market dynamics and economic conditions. Co-develop and implement business plans for territory/accounts with the Regional Director of Sales. Effectively sell and compel buying influences to move testing to Mayo Clinic by differentiating from competing interests. Coordinate appropriate resources, develop presentations and participate in the bid process for new and upsell opportunities. In collaboration with Product Managers and the Regional Director of Sales, identify specific tests or groups of test that are differentiated in the market and pursue upsells to targeted clients. Negotiate pricing, coordinate contract development and execution and monitor the accurate lock-in of prices.
At least 60% travel expected.
Bachelor's and three years’ experience in sales (preferably within the market segment they will be representing (e.g., Commercial Sales accounts), client facing contact or negotiating contracts within a laboratory setting.
This position requires incumbent to work from an office in their home located near a major airport and within territory of support - NE United States (including ME, NH, NY, MA, PA, MD)

Master's in business, medical technology, or sciences preferred. Must have excellent human relations, management, and communications skills. Must be accountable, adaptable, flexible, creative, dependable, responsible, and able to perform well within multifunctional environments, and be customer-focused. Ability to manage several projects or tasks simultaneously and to exercise appropriate judgment when prioritizing projects. Decision-making and problem-solving ability, adherence to Mayo Clinic and MCS policies and procedures. Ability to function and work in a diverse work environment while selling MCS Services and providing direction to clients in a concise, sensitive, informative, and professional manner. Keeping a positive and courteous tone, particularly in adversarial discussions. Keeping abreast of regulatory issues, reimbursement issues, and service requirements.
License or certification
Valid driver's license and a good driving record are required, along with the ability to travel extensively on all forms of major public transportation. FACHE certification preferred.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
