This roll falls under Supply Chain Management, Clinical Support Services, and is responsible for the management of supplies in Arizona Surgery. Logistics Coordinators primarily serve in an administrative role.
Logistics Coordinator works collaboratively on multi-disciplinary work groups and projects. Initiates and facilitates activities to establish and enhance financial and operational analyses, supply chain, product management, and other SCM activities and processes. The incumbent in this position will work with Mayo departments and the Product Management Committees to review existing supply expenses and to identify supply expense reduction opportunities. Collaborates with staff within Supply Chain Management, and our customers to implement the identified supply expense reduction opportunities. Responsible for providing support for administration of inventory locations, ensuring units are properly stocked of supplies for customers. Assures quality control of all units utilizing the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for inventory applications. Assists internal customers with medical supply recommendations when standard inventory supplies are stock outs or backordered utilizing the product formulary committees. Must have extensive knowledge of medical surgical products and acts as a liaison for product conversion. Serves as a resource on department and institutional initiatives; shares knowledge with customers and colleagues. Supports coordination of application upgrades for appropriate Logistics applications. Provides training internally for Supply Chain personnel and customers on Logistics processes and technology. Initiates and facilitates work groups and projects to progress financial and operational analyses, supply chain, product management, and other continuous improvement. Conducts research, analysis, benchmarking, and audits towards implementation of supply chain best practices. Assists with SCM continuous improvement initiatives. Works as a team to provide support to all departments; works with other areas of SCM to ensure exceptional customer service.
- Duties including managing backorders, product conversions, adding new products into Supply+ and Par Excellence, global substitutions in EPIC, as well as product trials and communicating this to the Logistics Specialists.
- Logistics Coordinators are also responsible for submitting Add Change Delete requests to Vizient, working on consignment addendums / agreements, and sitting on various meetings with Mayo Clinic personnel and vendors. This includes the SSTS committee where they will assist in preparing the agenda and taking minutes.
- Duties are subject to change based on the needs of the practice.
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in health care, supply chain logistics, finance, or related business experience; certifications may be considered in lieu of experience.

Requires strong personal computer skills, communication skills, problem solving, continuous improvement and teaming skills. Maintains a broad knowledge of Mayo clinical, financial, and administrative systems/applications and processes. Serves as a resource on department and institutional initiatives; shares knowledge with customers and colleagues. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Must be adaptable and flexible in an ever-changing work environment. Demonstrated ability to handle/prioritize tasks simultaneously. Basic understanding of accounting principles. Ability to manage time to meet required deadlines. Commodity/Service line knowledge and understanding. Ability to manage vendor relationships. Comprehension of customer requirements in order to provide solutions to product/service needs. Demonstrated analytical and project management experience.
License or certification
Valid driver's license and satisfactory motor vehicle record.
Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Materials Resource Professional (CMRP), Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA), or other credential from a recognized supply chain organization preferred.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $26.09 per hour.
