Laboratory Medicine & Pathology
To develop, evaluate, and implement new tests, methodologies, or products for the laboratory under the intellectual and scientific guidance of laboratory directors and development coordinator. Assumes responsibility for improvement of existing methods or implementation of new technology of proven validity. Maintains complete and accurate documentation of data generated and work performed. Helps in organizing new method validation data, preparation of data for publication and peer review, and participates in formal presentations. Aids in the investigation, installation, evaluation, and purchase of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, computer software and hardware, new reagent systems, and other specialty items. Participates in the training of laboratory staff, residents, and students in principles of methods and applications within the laboratory.
**A two-year commitment to this position is required**
Bachelor's degree in clinical/medical laboratory science (CLS/MLS), medical technology (MT), chemistry, biological science from an accredited institution, or bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in addition to a certificate in MLS. In histopathology or non-testing laboratories, a bachelor's degree with laboratory certification if applicable. Two years' relevant laboratory experience required. A HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree. Other clinical laboratory specialty certificates will be reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis.

Self-motivated, highly organized, efficient, and able to work independently exercising strong decision-making skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Capable of reproducing a reference method using available procedures without supervision. Demonstrated analytical and scientific competency with development and/or validation of lab techniques or procedures is required. Experience with data collection, organization, analysis and delivery of information.
Superior analytical and scientific competence with laboratory procedures is necessary. Experience with a variety of analytical techniques and laboratory validations is preferred. Experience with high resolution and triple quadrapole mass spectrometry is preferred.

License or certification
ASCP or other certification pertinent to the laboratory field may be required depending on the laboratory specialty and prevailing regulatory requirements.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2,396.00, based on a full-time position.

Weekend Schedule varies depending on instrument availability and project
