The Director of Resident Services is responsible for the direction and supervision of the planning, organizing, implementing and evaluation of programs and services to meet the physical, spiritual, social, recreational, educational, and social services needs of Charter House residents; Facilitates the successful orientation and transition of new residents into Charter House and the optimum stay of all residents in the apartments, Health Center, Assisted Living and Supportive Care Centers. Facilitation of information by collaborating with departments throughout Charter House and serves as a liaison with family members for resident concerns. The Director of Resident Services is also responsible for the overall supervision and work direction of the Charter House Resident Services Center. Creates and implements new resident programs such as shopping service, fee for service personal training, escort assistance, etc. Involved in special projects and participates on various committees as needed.
A Bachelor's Degree is required or equivalent education in Social Work or Human Services with an emphasis on gerontology and/or health administration preferred; Must have at least two years’ work experience in a long-term care facility or retirement living center in social services.
Experience supervising an activities program is preferable. Must have a current working knowledge of community resources, state and federal regulations governing skilled nursing facilities including private and third party payment programs including Medicare and knowledge of current trends and philosophies regarding Retirement Living Centers. The Director of Resident Services must possess personal philosophies, attitudes and behaviors which respect and have the ability to articulate and relate well with people, especially older people.
License or certification
Current LSW - Minnesota with board approved supervision competency and/or Nursing Home Administrator's License -- preferred. Current Nursing Home Administrator's License - preferred. Current certification in Aging Services or Housing Management preferred.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2,552.80, based on a full-time position.
