Position description
The ESA team works closely with the practice, Clinical Systems Education, HIMS, IT Support, and other team members to continuously look for ways to improve user functionality and productivity of the EHR, by directly assisting staff, proactively identifying opportunities, escalating functionality concerns and helping to resolve EHR issues. In addition, the ESA may be expected to participate in EHR related process improvement projects, department level project teams, provide basic EHR education, and answer "how to" questions related to EHR. The EHR Support Analyst focuses on providing at-the-elbow support in multiple practice areas leveraging specialized EHR knowledge including cross-covering in other practice areas. Deliver EHR 1:1 training developed for new employees, focusing on practice areas. Collaborate with EHR training team to deliver system efficiency training to specific departments based on needs. The EHR Support Analyst helps upskill peers in delivering at-the-elbow support in a formal mentor role. This includes general tips/tricks and providing guidance for prioritizing workload.
Qualifications
Associates degree required or certificate in LPN, Medical Assistant, Administrative Clinical Assistant, Health Unit Coordinator, Medical Technology, Business, related field. Minimum of two years' experience using Epic electronic health record in a hospital or clinic setting. Individuals will complete Epic credentialing course work within 6 months.
Additional qualifications
Bachelors degree preferred in Education, IT, HR, business/healthcare, but applicants from other fields are considered. Preferred one year experience in an EHR support role e.g., Super User, clinical application trainer, Associate ESA, or Help Desk. Current experience with Mayo Clinic EHR applications e.g., Epic applications or productivity applications (Dictation tools, EHR mobile tools, other mobile applications, Microsoft Office Suite) required. Ability to demonstrate computer literacy in aforementioned applications. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot for relevant technology related issues. Communication/training skills in both individual and group settings. Able to work independently and within a team. Ability to triage and prioritize work as well as perform a variety of tasks simultaneously. Problem solving and decision-making skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of healthcare professionals. Individuals interested in the position must be able and willing to make a commitment to remain in the position for a minimum of two years.
License or certification
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Mayo Clinic Policy.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $22.98 per hour.
