Position description
The Fitness/Wellness Program Coordinator is responsible for the Charter House fitness/wellness program. The Fitness/Wellness Program Coordinator is responsible for providing a service oriented and welcoming environment to all persons who visit the Fitness/Wellness Center. The primary responsibility of this position is to plan, organize, implement and evaluate fitness/wellness programs for older adults. This includes individual as well as group exercise/wellness programs. May include programming for interested staff of the facility. Must demonstrate health promotion programming development, implementation and evaluation skills. The Fitness/Wellness Program Coordinator must demonstrate competency in performing functional fitness tests and accurately interpreting the results to design an individual specific program with the needs of the customer in mind, including high standards and confidentiality. Must be able to effectively plan, organize and implement appropriate group exercise and fitness/wellness programs. The Fitness/Wellness Program Coordinator oversees the Fee For Service Personal Training Program which includes program promotion, adequate staffing to meet the demands and maintaining program records sufficient for the program and billing requirements. The Fitness/Wellness Program Coordinator must readily apply the latest research evidence to their daily work and is responsible for the research and development of additional programs to meet the needs of the older adults we serve. This includes recommendations for up to date equipment and supplies to facilitate a comprehensive program. They must have the capacity to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Excellent interpersonal skills are a must both in individual and group interactions. They must possess a sense of imagination and creativity.
Qualifications
B.S. or B.A. in a Health and Fitness field required (Exercise Science, exercise physiology). Certification in ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) required within the first 6 months of employment. One year experience in a health club or corporate wellness setting, and/or related internship required.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $21.75 per hour.
