Position description
Manages, plans, coordinates, facilitates, integrates, and evaluates Pharmacy Department's services and programs. Assures that age appropriate care is delivered for population served. Responsible for personnel and budgeting resources to effect the coordinated delivery of Pharmacy services. Promotes excellence based on department and organizational goals with a commitment to the mission and philosophy. The scope of responsibility for this position includes 24-hour management accountability for assigned areas. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs is required. Receives direction from the Director and Assistant Director of Pharmacy.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy (BS in Pharmacy or PharmD degree). A minimum of five (5) years’ Pharmacist experience, which includes two (2) years’ supervisory or manager experience.
Additional qualifications
Master’s degree preferred. Residency in a program accredited by the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists, or equivalent experience, is preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills and competencies. Demonstrated experience working with or supervising a clinical pharmacy program. Demonstrated experience working with or supervising a clinical pharmacy program. Demonstrated skills in quality improvement, financial management, strategic planning, project management, and team building. Demonstrated commitment to excellence. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others, and work independently with minimal leadership guidance.
License or certification
