Performs technician and clerical support activities associated with the coordination of the Research Support Service of Hospital Pharmacy Services. Duties involve maintaining active and closed protocol files, completing protocol-based report forms, providing assistance to auditors and study coordinators, maintaining inventory levels, ordering and receiving new drug supplies, packaging and mailing used and unused study supplies, assuring correct drug accountability records, processing computerized study drug charges and work load statistics, and performing quality management functions. Emphasis is placed on accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work performed in order to maintain the integrity of the service and system.
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy required or obtained upon hire prior to working in this position. National Pharmacy Technician Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required, or obtained within 12 months of employment. Must never have been convicted of a felony to sit for the PTCB Certification Examination. Revocation of Certification would result in termination. Two years pharmacy experience preferred. Personal computer skills including word processing, database, spreadsheet development experience or ability to learn required. Narcotic control, inventory management, or investigational/chemotherapy protocol record keeping experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail, accuracy, timeliness and organizational skills. Physical Demands: Approximately equal amount of time spent standing, sitting, and walking. Moderate lifting required. Special Demands: Exposure to various irritating chemicals requiring careful handling. No history of drug addiction or misuse, or proof of completion of a certified drug abuse rehabilitation program is required.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $18.03 per hour.
Monday through Friday Day shifts at SMC, RMC and/or Outpatient Research Pharmacy with variable start times.
