Position description

The Division of General Internal Medicine, located within the Department of Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Florida, is currently seeking an Internist for an appointment in our General Internal Medicine Division, concentrating on our International population.

Board certification in Internal Medicine is required. Practice and leadership experience within an outpatient Internal Medicine practice is essential, and experience in international medicine or concierge medicine program is highly desirable. Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

The selected candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication skills and maturity needed to care for our episodic ("non-primary care") international patient population. Interests in advancing the science and practice of medicine within the division and the institution through research, education and innovative care models are added qualifications that will receive priority. This position includes an academic appointment in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and provides opportunities to educate medical students or residents in the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine and Internal Medicine Residency Program.

License or certification
Qualified candidates should be board-certified/board-eligible in internal medicine with a desire for scholarly activity. Preference will be given to those candidates with additional year(s) of training in advanced General Internal Medicine (Chief Residency or fellowship) or internal medicine practice experience. Research training through fellowship or a Master’s Degree program is desirable, but not a prerequisite for application.

Spanish fluency also preferred.
