Interventional radiology (IR) is a specialized field within radiology. In Interventional Radiology, doctors not only interpret your medical images, but they also perform minimally invasive surgical procedures through small incisions in the body.

As a member of the radiology team the interventional technologist works alongside interventional radiologists and nurses. The technologist assists the interventional radiologist with diagnostic angiographic procedures as well as complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures. The interventional technologists must have a combination of technical, radiologic and clinical skills.
Position description
To provide service to adults of all ages in the Cardiac Cath Lab and to adolescents, adults and older adults in Interventional Radiology and Interventional Cardiology. Services include assisting physicians during invasive, sterile procedures. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatments. Responsible for image management. Assists with maintenance of equipment and inventory. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement. Assumes on call responsibility. Technologists must demonstrate an ability to function well under stressful or emergent situations.
Graduate of an accredited radiography program. Will consider new grads.

Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Flexibility (Works flexible hours, which include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends). Basic computer skills. Leadership, problem solving, verbal and written communication, and team building. Basic improvement concepts and techniques.
Additional qualifications
Prefer hemodynamic and ECG monitoring experience. Previous experience in Radiology, Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology, preferred.
License or certification
Active Wisconsin Radiographer License. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Current Basic Life Support certification.
Depending on service line, obtain ARRT Certification in either:
• Interventional Radiology: Vascular Interventional within two years of hire.
• Interventional Cardiology: Cardiovascular Interventional within 4 years of hire.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $29.08 per hour.

Schedule details
Work schedule includes 8 hour day shifts that vary currently from 0700 to 6pm. This position will require on call responsibility, with approximately 5-6 weeknights of call per month.
Weekend schedule
Currently, this position will require weekend on call responsibility, approximately every 6th weekend on call.
