The Clinical Integration Services unit, within the Mayo Clinic Cloud Platform Services Division, has an opening for a skilled and motivated Senior Analyst Programmer to join our team in supporting the Mayo Clinic Cloud Platform in collaboration with Google.

The Clinical Integration Services unit builds and runs the API Platform which operates as the API Marketplace for Mayo Clinic Developers and Business Partners.

Position description

This individual will play a key role in design, development, implementation and maintenance of web services and APIs. To be successful in this role, we are seeking a candidate with strong familiarity with API Platforms and REST APIs. In addition, the candidate must have skill automating and scripting applications and Continuous Integration / Deployment Pipelines.

This candidate should be able to prove their capability to:

  • Investigate, Design and Implement new API Platform Features

  • Develop automated tools and processes in support of API Product Lifecycles

  • Support and Advise API Developers and API Consumers with API Design, Security and Consumption

To be successful, a candidate should have at least two of the below desired technical skills:

  • Apigee API Platform Experience or similar

  • Development/scripting in Javascript/Python or similar

  • REST API Design and Development

  • Cloud Engineering (such as BigQuery, Stackdriver, Terraform with GCP)

  • CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines / Releases

  • IT Platform Build and Run experience

Experience working with Big Data and HL7 FHIR are also considered desired skills as many APIs at Mayo Clinic use or feed Clinical data using HL7 FHIR.

The successful candidate will produce and maintain documentation such as systems requirements, designs, resource inventories and plans as requested. Participation in a 24/7 on-call support rotation may be required.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience, including 1 year demonstrated technical experience; (Or, Associate’s degree and 7 years’ experience, including 1 year demonstrated technical experience.)

Authorization to work and remain in the United States, without necessity for Mayo Clinic sponsorship now, or in the future (for example, be a U.S. Citizen, national, or permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
Additional qualifications
Applies effective system design principles and software development methodologies. Demonstrated ability to multi-task among multiple complex assigned tasks/projects. Evidence of strong communication, meeting management, and organizational skills and ability to adjust the message as appropriate to the audiences of varying technical capabilities. Evidence of project management skills. Possesses an objective and positive attitude with all tasks and projects. Possesses a high level of project and deliverable consistency through demonstrated repeatable and reliable performance. Evidence of ability to take initiative and proactive on starting tasks and assignments and ability to work independently. Experience working in healthcare technology. Exposure to managing both custom developed and vendor-supplied applications. Masters degree in applicable field preferred.

Compensation Detail
Required education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.  The salary range every 2 weeks is approx. $2,608-$3,652 based on a full-time position.

This vacancy may be open to full time telework candidates within the U.S./ reasonable travel to a Mayo facility if ever a business need/ meeting or client-facing. Mayo Clinic has facilities in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Florida.
