Position description
Non-exempt position. Functions independently and collaboratively with the laboratory leadership in performing all major work responsibilities of professional laboratory practice. Performs a wide variety of complex diagnostic and therapeutic testing, and acts as a resource for problem resolution and interpretation of results. May be responsible for coordination of instrument correlation studies, and method validations. Correlate data based on clinical knowledge, technical expertise, and other conditions affecting test results. Participate in laboratory quality assurance programs and performance improvement activities. Assists with staff training, orientation of new employees, updating procedures for areas of responsibility. Directs work flow in the daily operation of the laboratory and provides direction and problem solving skills for laboratory functions.
Qualifications
Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science or health related field. Completion of a clinical laboratory internship or Associates Degree Medical Laboratory Technician with completion of a clinical internship. An HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree. One year of experience actively working in a moderate or high complexity clinical laboratory.

Additional qualifications
Four years of experience actively working in a moderate or high complexity clinical laboratory preferred. Working knowledge of laboratory information and reporting systems, preferred. Excellent working knowledge of laboratory regulatory standards, preferred. Knowledge of CLIA standards, preferred. Experience with operational and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and assays, preferred. Willingness to work at other sites preferred.

Position will provide day to day oversight and support to both Osseo and Mondovi locations. Monday - Friday day hours
Weekend schedule
No weekends in normal schedule. However, may field questions via phone call by staff working if needed. Also, may need to fill in for staffing needs if sick call if can not secure another staff member to cover shift
