Position description
Mayo Clinic is seeking a Laboratory Animal Veterinarian for a Faculty Position in the Department of Comparative Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. The Department of Comparative Medicine supports a wide variety of biomedical research programs including transgenic rodent projects and translational large animal models involving surgery and advanced imaging. Animal programs and facilities are AAALAC-accredited.

Duties will include providing clinical laboratory animal care to a wide range of species, consulting with investigators from multiple disciplines, assuring regulatory compliance, and participating in the administration of the established programs. Educational responsibilities include teaching graduate students, training animal support staff, and delivering didactic and hands-on clinical training to laboratory animal residents enrolled in an ACLAM-recognized training program. Opportunities exist for involvement in the direction of the residency program and research mentorship.
Qualifications: Candidates must have a DVM or VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited school of veterinary medicine and a license to practice in at least one state. ACLAM board certification/eligibility is required. Ideal candidates have a strong background in the provision of perioperative care to laboratory animals, delivery of health care to rodents,
