Mayo Clinic is seeking a Laboratory Animal Veterinarian for a Faculty Position in the Department of Comparative Medicine.

The Department of Comparative Medicine supports a wide variety of biomedical research programs including transgenic rodents and zebrafish. Animal programs and facilities are AAALAC accredited. This position is located in Jacksonville, FL.

Position description
Qualifications: Candidates must have a DVM or VMD degree from an AVMA accredited school of veterinary medicine, Florida veterinary licensure, or the ability to obtain a Florida veterinary license, and be either eligible for or a Diplomate of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine.

Duties will include providing clinical laboratory animal care for a variety of species, consulting with investigators from multiple disciplines, assuring regulatory compliance, and participating in the administration of the established programs. Responsibilities include participating in teaching graduate students, veterinary residents, and training animal support staff. In addition, collaborative and/or independent research opportunities exist.
