This position provides care in multiple locations including the ambulatory departments in La Crosse and all our regional clinics. Our regional clinics include: Onalaska, Holmen, Arcadia, Sparta, Tomah, Caledonia, and Prairie du Chien.

This position will be part of the resource team and support a variety of practices with the main focus on the virtual provider appointment in Arcadia, Sparta, Tomah, and Prairie du Chien clinics. Travel time and Mileage is offered per policy with this position.

There will be a daily rotation to the different sites to support SWWI Outpatient Practice’s strategies for virtual care. The role will focus on rooming patients and ensuring the technology is working. This role will be in clinic with the patient to complete face to face rooming duties while the provider connects virtually with the patient at one of the Primary care clinics noted above.

Position description
The medical assistant performs assigned tasks of direct and indirect care in the ambulatory setting to meet the care needs of patients under the direct supervision of a physician (medical acts) or assigned supervisor. The medical assistant participates as a member of the health care team and accepts appropriate delegation from the RN or physician in meeting needs of the patient/family. The medical assistant performs assigned tasks in accordance with the patient care plan, policies and procedures of the organization and principles of relationship-based care. The medical assistant carries out designated activities that are within those functions limited by law to unlicensed health care personnel.
Qualifications
MA:
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Graduate from a Medical Assistant diploma or associate degree program.

LPN:
Graduate or student graduating from a school of practical nursing or passed If graduation did not occur within the last two years, one year of LPN experience working in an applicable setting is required.
Additional qualifications
MA:
If graduation did not occur within the last two years, one year of recent medical assistant experience working in an applicable setting. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Experience working in a team environment. Computer proficiency required, including prior experience with electronic medical record systems. Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, and on-call. Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.

LPN:
One year LPN experience within the last five years preferred. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Experience working in a team environment. Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, and on-call. Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting. Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing preferred.
License or certification
MA:
Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association, American Red Cross.

Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA), or registration (RMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) is preferred.

LPN:
Current LPN license by applicable state requirements or will obtain prior to start date. Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross
